" Placenta disc + membranes - secend trimester placenta with extensiv subchorionic hemorrhage ther is no evidence of acute chorioamnionitis.
Umbilical cord - three blood vessels. (3B, 3H + E)
Gross Decription - Placenta 12 x 8 x 4 cms. The umbilical cord bears two clumps measures 18 cms and shows central insertion. There are three blood vessels present. Adherent to the maternal surface is a large fragmented friable blood clot measuring 12 x 11 x 8 cms. The blood clot is also adherent to membranes. The maternal surface appears complete. Sectioning reveals subchorionic haemorrhage. Represented in three cassettes"
